PRP Scalp Treatment
Platelet-rich plasma, or “PRP,” has been used to treat joint problems for several years.
More recently, it has been used to treat some types of hair loss. To obtain PRP, blood is drawn from your arm, then placed into a centrifuge in our office lab. After spinning the blood, platelets are separated from the other blood components, yielding a platelet-rich plasma.
Platelets are known to stimulate cell growth, so they are then injected into the scalp, to the hair roots. A series of injections is usually recommended to gain best possible results.
